Babbitt. Jataka Tales: Part A

The Monkey and the Crocodile- I already wrote a story about The monkey and Crocodile and can find it on my blog.

How the turtle saved it's own life- There was a king who owned a lake for his sons to play in. One day he boys found a turtle and thought it was a demon since they have never seen one. The king ordered the turtle to die but the turtle convinced the king the worst punishment would be to go back in the lake. The turtle was thrown back into the lake and lived happily.

The Merchant of Seri- There were once two merchants who used to travel together selling tin. One of them was a greedy merchant who came across a golden bowl. The merchant acted like it was useless so he could come back and pay very little for it. While gone the other merchant came and traded all he had for the gold bowl and traveled away.

The Turtle who couldn't Stop Talking- A turtle became friends with two geese. The Geese wanted to bring the turtle with them back home and the turtle agreed. The turtle would hold on to a stick and the geese would carry the stick. The geese told the turtle not to say anything during the flight and the turtle agreed. As they were flying the kids saw the turtle and made fun of it for flying in which the turtle started talking back letting go of the stick and falling to death.

The Ox who won the forfeit- There is a man who owned a very strong Ox. He bet his friends the Ox could pull a 100 carts. Before the Ox started pulling the owner started whipping and calling him names. The OX didn't move and the owner lost his money. The next day the owner placed the same bet but he encouraged his Ox and didn't hit him. The Ox pulled the carts and won the bet.

The sandy road- A group of merchants where traveling in a desert on the way to a city to trade. They thought they were there and emptied all supplies. They weren't there and found a well to get more water.

The Quarrel of the Quails- There was a hunter who would catch quails and sell them in the city. The Quails figured out why so many of them were being caught so they came up with a plan to fly with the net. This planned worked time after time until there was a Quarrel between the Quails and they were to stubborn to fly when caught so they were all caught and sold

Introduction to Carver's life

Hi, I'm Carver Ramey and I am currently a junior here at OU. My major is Finance and I would say the coolest part of my major is I got to go study abroad last summer and take a finance and accounting class. The best class I took last semester would be Philosophy because I was able to work ahead and complete the course two weeks before it was due. After I graduate from OU I want to go to work somewhere in the real estate field. This summer I have an internship at a commercial real estate firm in Dallas which I am very excited about. If for some reason I don't enjoy real estate I will probably try and go to law school after graduating from OU. My favorite hobby of mine is skiing. I usually go skiing once or twice a year and I have been doing that for the past 15 years whether it's with my parents or a group of friends. To make sure I keep this streak up every summer I work and save up so I can afford to go. This winter break I went to Crested Butte with a couple of my friend...
